The Official "Koru" Hat. The KORU symbol is from New Zealand. The twirl graphic represents the fern frond as it begins unfurling. It is the name given to the unfurling of a new fern frond by the Māori people - the indigenous polynesion people of New Zealand . It symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace. It is the perfect symbol for the sailboat, which was completely written off until Ray and Charlotte got a hold of it. It took over 3 years but they can finally say she is complete. This trip begins her first extended sail.
